Rotary Club of Mumbai South has entered in to Golden year after rendering acknowledgeable service in past 49 years. The final meeting of 40 charter members was held on 15th April 1971 when the Club was named Rotary Club of Bombay South.(The parent club was Rotary Club of Bombay Mid-Town). The name was changed to Mumbai South in Rotary Year 1998-99. We got our Charter on 27th May 1971 under the Leadership of Charter President Thakorbhai Desai. We had Navneetlal Shah, Shambhukumar Kasliwal ,Prataprai Oza and Madhu Narang amongst the Charter members.
The club had very service minded & dedicated Presidents year after year. Club has given 2 dynamic PDGs

We had the privilege of hosting 3 District conferences in Rotary years 82/83. 94/95. 96/97
We had Maximum membership of 119 members in Rotary year 98-99 (25 new members added)
Our meeting places started from Hotel Nagraj to Hotel President then CCI, And for nearly 12 years at Garware Club House.Then in 2002-03 we moved to MC Ghia Hall and now meeting at Maharashtra Chamber of Commerce Hall. We have adopted 100 colleges in year 94-95 and are running a Rotary Community Centre which benefits many Rotary Clubs to fulfill their Projects.
We have been holding 20/25 interschool competitions from R.Y.82/83 involving 5000 youth of our area this may be a unique project in September every year.
Our Projects include Midday Meals,Water Dams, Check Dams, Happy Schools (8) ,RCCs (3), Interact Clubs (6), Rotaract Clubs (5). Under Global grant we remade Nana Karodia Villege.We have excelled in medical services by arranging various medical camps almost every year.
We are in the forefront as far as TRF contributions are concerned. We have contributed unbelievable amount of more than Million 1.2 US $ so far.
